CHARO CHICKEN- HUNTINGTON BEACH

PICTURED (top to bottom): Restaurant Sign, Restaurant, Papa-Charo Combo with Rice and Guacamole, Papa-Charo (just the chicken).

Sometimes ya just gotta have a late-night snack (like after our less than stellar dinner Saturday night). So we decided to stop at our local Charo Chicken (http://www.charochicken.com/) for our little "snack attack". We got the Papa-Charo meal with Lemon-Garlic Seasoning (the Best!) and our favorite sides, Rice and Guacamole. We ordered to-go and hit their great Salsa Bar on the way out.

Everything was GREAT!!!
Today's late-night Charo Chicken snack gets three thumbs up from the 3 Tubby Tummys!

Stay tuned for our next Joe's adventure, as we continue to graze the menu. We gotta find out what the "Joe Latti" is all about!

CLAIM JUMPER- CHAPTER THREE

PICTURED(top to bottom): Restaurant Sign, Original Tri-Tip Dip Sandwich, Chicken and Rib Combo (Minus the Ribs!!!), The Missing Ribs, Widow-Maker Burger.

We went to our favorite Claim Jumper, at the South Coast Plaza Mall, Saturday afternoon for an early dinner. We were fully expecting the great food and good service that we've become accustomed to; but they were a little off their game today. We had to wait a little too long for a decent table; and then there was the food!

Sweetie pie ordered the Original Tri-Tip Dip Sandwich with a Sweet Potato side. The Au Jus was too salty, the flavor of the meat was disappointing and the Sweet Potato was cold. Her mother ordered the Baby Back Rib & BBQ Chicken Combo with a Sweet Potato. The chicken was pale and not cooked properly. The Sweet Potato was cold; and the Ribs were missing from the plate! We brought it to the server's attention and she returned with a plate of Ribs, glistening and hot, but bonier then we're used to. On the plus side, my Widow-Maker Burger was delicious and the Seasoned French Fries perfectly prepared.

Tonight's Claim Jumper dinner gets one thumb up from the 3 Tubby Tummys!

MRS. KNOTT'S KITCHEN

PICTURED (top to bottom): Bonanza, Pancakes, Grand Breakfast, Apple Compote.

Mrs. Knott's Kitchen at Knott's Berry Farm is famous for their Chicken Dinners. They also serve breakfast, and we decided to eat there Saturday morning. There was no line and no waiting for a table, and we were promptly seated in our favorite dining area, with our favorite server. The food is good, the service excellent, the portions large and the price is nice. The Biscuits are freshly baked and served warm (so the butter melts nicely). They also come with gravy if you like. They leave a Carafe of Coffee at the table, so your cup is never empty.

Sweetie Pie ordered the Bonanza- Two Eggs, Sausage, Bacon and Ham with Hash Browns. Her mother and I both ordered the Grand Breakfast- Three eggs, Sausage, Bacon and Ham with Potatoes, Pancakes and Apple Compote. OMG! What a lot of food. It's a good thing we were all hungry. Although we made a valiant attempt, we couldn't finish it all.

The 3 Tubby Tummys give today's breakfast at Mrs. Knott's three thumbs up!

ORIGINAL FISH COMPANY- CHAPTER THREE

PICTURED(top to bottom): Restaurant Sign, Caesar Salad, Asparagus Puree Soup, Wild Alaskan King Salmon, Parmesan Shrimp over Marinara Angel Hair Pasta, Ecuadorian Talapia over Yukon Potatoes with Bay Shrimp, Grape Tomatoes and Asparagus, Sorbet Medley with Fresh Fruit.

It's Friday night, and we're off to the Original Fish Company (www.originalfishcompany.com/) in Los Alamitos. Seems like we're back here almost every month; and for good reason. Great food, good service, ambiance and value!

Sweetie pie started off with the Soup of the Day-Asparagus Puree. It was thick and creamy, and very delicious (kinda like split pea soup kicked up a notch). Her mother and I both had our favorite-the Caesar Salad (with extra dressing on the side). The Fish Company's is the best. Sweet Stuff also had the Friday Night Special Entree-Baked Parmesan Shrimp with Fried Zucchini over Marinara Angel Hair Pasta. Her mother had her favorite dish, the Wild Alaskan King Salmon, and I had the Ecuadorian Talapia Special. Everything was delicious and perfectly prepared. We decided to share one dessert, and ordered the Sorbet Medley (Mango, Lemon and Raspberry) with Fresh Fruit. Yes, it was as good as it looks!

The 3 Tubby Tummys give tonight's Original Fish Company dinner three thumbs up!
